My family needs help. How do I apply for Christmas Daddies assistance?

Christmas Daddies helps Maritime families in need at Christmas time by providing toys, food and clothing. The Salvation Army distributes these items and you must register to be on the list.

PLEASE READ THIS IF YOU LIVE IN THE HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY.

There is one central registry operated by Feed Nova Scotia for all Christmas requests.


Applicants are no longer able to register over the phone.

IF YOU ARE ON INCOME ASSISTANCE:

1. You will receive a green application form (by regular mail) from the Department of Community Services.

2. Fill out the application form.

3. Mail the form to the address noted on the application as soon as you receive it.

IF YOU ARE NOT ON INCOME ASSISTANCE:

You must REGISTER IN PERSON.

1. Contact your local food bank and tell them you want to apply for Christmas support. They will give you an application form. 

2. Fill out the application form you receive at the food bank, and they will forward it to the Christmas Registry on your behalf.

for information on how to get the appropriate referral
for Christmas support.


You will be required to register in person.

Nova Scotia health care cards for ALL FAMILY MEMBERS are required on all applications.

Only one member per family can apply for assistance.

Christmas support is available for Maritime families in need this year but registration is required.

Feed Nova Scotia operates the central registry. If seeking assistance you shouldn’t register in more than one location.
